Where: By the Buster Boyd Bridge, S.C. 49, with viewing from the Buster Boyd Bridge boat landing, T-Bones on the Lake and Lake Wylie Plaza restaurants

McCelvey Center fireworks

When: About 9:30 tonight

Where: McCelvey Center, 212 E. Jefferson St., York

Also: Fourth of July celebration with music, games and food begins at 6 p.m.

Fort Mill fireworks

When: 9 tonight

Where: Confederate Park, Main Street, Fort Mill

Also: Festivities will begin at 8 p.m. at the bandstand, with the firing of the cannon at 8:45 p.m.

Tega Cay fireworks

When: 9:30 tonight

Where: Windjammer Park

Also: The city's all-day 25th anniversary events include land and water parades, a ski show, fish fry and patriotic music.

Carowinds fireworks

When: 10 tonight

Where: Carowinds amusement park

Details: The special effects show, synchronized to pop favorites, will be partially launched from the Carolina Skytower.

Charlotte Knights fireworks

When: Tonight, after the 7:15 p.m. game

Where: Knights Stadium, Fort Mill

Also: Skyshow Tailgate party starts at 5 p.m. at the stadium.

Where: Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, near Belmont, N.C.

Also: Heritage Celebration with music, children's activities and picnic contest begins at 2 p.m.

Admission: $10 adults, $9 seniors 60 and up, $5 children ages 4 to 12 and free to members.

Where: Uptown Charlotte, from Central Piedmont Community College
