Charlotte company will move to Fort Mill, bring 250 jobs

Sunbelt Rentals is moving its corporate headquarters to Fort Mill with 250jobs and an $18 million investment in a new development around KnightsStadium.

The Charlotte-based equipment rental company is hoping to move into a new,62,000-square-foot building at 2341 Deerfield Road by the end of the year,company spokesman Nat Brookhouse said Friday.

The building will include a training center for employees from all over thenation.

Sunbelt will be the first tenant in the 277-acre Gold Hill Commonsdevelopment that will include office and light industrial space, apartments,shops, restaurants, a hotel and architecture reminiscent of Europeanvillages.

Developer Shawn Helda of Corinthian Properties is expecting to have 2million square feet of office space at Gold Hill Commons when its complete.
