Police use Taser on suspect in burglary of drive-through

YORK -- A Kentucky man was jailed Tuesday after officials said he climbed through a restaurant drive-through window and took $135 from a cash register.

Brian Edward Hollern, 26, faces a burglary charge, according to an arrest warrant. Other charges are pending against Hollern, said Detective William Mumaw of the York Police Department.

The charge against Hollern stems from an incident that happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday at the drive-through window at Burger King at 604 E. Liberty St.

"He climbed through the window," Mumaw said. "He reached down and popped the register open and started pulling some money out."

Three employees were in the building during the incident, Mumaw said. After a female employee yelled at Hollern, he ran off, Mumaw said.

After a short pursuit, an officer used a Taser on Hollern before he was arrested, according to a police report. Hollern, whose bond was set at $10,000, remained in custody Tuesday night at York County Detention Center.
