Find Santa's lost elf, reindeer at the Holiday Treasure Hunt

A recent snowstorm that broke apart Santa's sleigh has led to the disappearance of his elf Festus and two reindeer, Burle and Rollo.

They each took a toy chest with them, and they need to be found right away.

The three can be located through the Great 2007 Holiday Treasure Hunt. The treasure hunt will kick off at two locations Saturday. The first will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Woodlands on Twin Lakes Road in Rock Hill. The second will be 3 to 5 p.m. at Burns Cadillac Chevrolet on Cherry Road in Rock Hill.

Information on the treasure hunt will be given to participants who stop by one of the two locations. The first clue will be published in the Sunday edition of The Herald. Clues will then be posted on The Herald's Web site, www.heraldonline.com, every Monday.

Those who find Burle's toy chest will receive $100 in cash; Festus' toy chest, $250 in cash; and Rollo's toy chest, $500 in cash.

Several events are planned for the entire family Saturday at The Woodlands, including a moon bounce and face painting for kids. Hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn and nachos will be available. A pet adoption booth also will be set up. A $100 Visa gift card giveaway will be at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. at The Woodlands. Santa will be visiting both locations.

The event is sponsored by Plaza Fiesta Carolinas, The Herald, Burns Cadillac Chevrolet and The Woodlands.
