Authorities have arrested a 24-year-old Rock Hill man in connection with a robbery in which two men were beaten with sticks, leaving one man with a cut near his eye and welts on his back and the other with a swollen hand and bump on his head.
Rock Hill Police on Wednesday charged Demario Romon Faulkner of 2156 Montclair Drive, Apt. 54 with armed robbery, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and conspiracy, according to police reports.
Faulkner also faces first-degree burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy charges, a report states.
On Oct. 27, the two victims were standing outside their Rock Hill apartment when two women approached them and asked if they wanted to go to a party. The men got into a car with their friend and followed the women's car to a playground at Richmond Drive Elementary School, according to the report.
As the men walked toward the playground with the women, they were hit with sticks by two other men and robbed of a combined $440. The women ran off just before the attack, according to the report.
Faulkner remained in custody Thursday at York County Detention Center.
