Lancaster motorist critical after shooting

LANCASTER -- A 21-year-old Lancaster man remained hospitalized Thursday after police say he was shot Wednesday while sitting in his car at an apartment complex.

Nadavis Benson of 106 S. French St. was shot in the stomach and left arm Wednesday afternoon, according to Lancaster Police report.

Benson was taken to Charlotte's Carolinas Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, a spokeswoman said. Police have not made an arrest. Witnesses told police they heard five to six shots, according to the report.

Another witness told police that she saw a faded blue/gray Chevrolet Caprice with tinted windows leave the parking lot in the direction of West Gay Street.
