Presbytery seeks mobile food pantry partners

Representatives of area churches are invited to an informational meeting on partnering to host the Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry at least four times a year in York County.

The meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Providence Presbytery Office on Oakland Avenue in Rock Hill.

St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hermon Presbyterian Church and Rep. Bessie Moody-Lawrence sponsored the mobile panty in November of 2006 and 2007.

Interest grew among volunteers from other churches who want to get involved, organizers said. Among them are Union Baptist, Allison Creek Presbyterian, Bethlehem First Presbyterian, Mount Zion Baptist, Foundation AME Zion, New Mount Olivet AME Zion, Flint Hill Baptist, Freedom Temple, and Boyd Hill Baptist.
