Man dies after hit-and-run in Columbia

COLUMBIA -- No charges have been filed after a hit-and-run Tuesday night in which a passenger in the car was assaulted and later died, authorities say.

No cause of death has been determined for 34-year-old Rodrick Anderson of Columbia, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Wednesday. There are no signs Anderson was fatally beaten, Watts said.

The three who were struck by the car about 10:50 p.m. on Nancy Avenue were treated at a hospital and released.

Authorities are looking for the driver of the 1989 four-door Chrysler.
