Clover's Lighthouse Shelter has lost its oldest residents.
For years, a bee colony occupied the building on New Beginning Baptist Church's property off Old North Main Street.
"They were here when we bought the building two years ago," said New Beginning Pastor Samuel Thompson.
The church operates two ministries on the property -- the Lighthouse Shelter and Thrift Shop, which houses up to 14 homeless people at a time, and God's Kitchen, where church members cook meals for elderly and disabled people.

On Wednesday, a pair of beekeepers showed up to coax the insects out of their hives and take them away.
But they might have missed a few.
"Evidently some of (the bees) were on vacation," Thomspon said. "Those that weren't home came back home."
