COLUMBIA -- A third soldier in about a month has died during basic combat training at Fort Jackson.
Pvt. Andrea Rosser, 21, of Raleigh, N.C., collapsed and later died Saturday while taking the physical fitness test, the Army said Monday.
The deaths of Rosser and two other soldiers in late September do not appear to be related, said post spokesman Pat Jones.
Rosser, who was scheduled to graduate from basic training on Friday, collapsed during the two-mile run portion of the Army physical fitness test.

She had been running for about 20 minutes and "began to show signs of physical distress," the Army said.
When paramedics arrived, Rosser was conscious and able to sit up, the Army said.
While being treated, she became unresponsive and stopped breathing.
