York County elections office extends hours

York County elections officials will offer extended hours for absentee voting on Saturday.

The elections office will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Anyone interested in voting absentee must qualify for one of 17 reasons ranging from disabilities to work obligations.

'Walk for Obama' set for Sunday

A public "Walk for Obama," sponsored by the York County Democratic Party and William "Bump" Roddey, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The walk will be from county Democratic headquarters, 339 W. Main St., to Rock Hill City Hall.

Area Democratic candidates are expected to attend, and the featured speaker and walk leader will be the Rev. W.T. "Dub" Massey, a member of the Friendship Nine civil rights group.

Voters can report election problems

Federal prosecutors want to remind South Carolina voters that several agencies will take reports of voter intimidation or fraud on Election Day.
