The York County Coroner’s Office has asked the County Council for permission to charge a new “consult fee” to help offset the cost of some services.
A story posted at heraldonline.com Wednesday incorrectly reported that Coroner Sabrina Gast had asked the council to double the current fee for toxicology reports.
The $50 consult fee would help cover the cost of providing reports to private attorneys and insurance offices who request the results of external exams, Gast said.
External exams are those that do not involve cutting into a body’s organs, she said, just gauging external injuries.
