A York man suffered only minor injuries when two men reportedly broke into his home in the middle of the night and fired a gun.
The 41-year-old man told police he was awakened around 2 a.m. when two men in black hoodies and black bandanas covering their faces broke into his home on Finewright Avenue. One of the intruders pointed a gun at the man and ordered him up. The man said he grabbed the weapon and struggled with the armed intruder while the other burglar struck him in the face, leaving marks around his mouth.
At some point, the handgun fired, leaving a bullet hole in the home’s living room floor. At that, the two men fled the home on foot.
Witnesses told police the men approached the home after getting out of a gold Buick Century. The two men reportedly started “creeping” around the side of the house, after which the “sounds of a struggle” could be heard inside until the men ran from the house and into a wooded area on the other side of California Circle.
