Theater students at Rock Hill High School will groove back to the 1960s in their production of “Hairspray, Jr.”
“Hairspray!,” which was a hit musical on Broadway for almost seven years, tells the story of a teenage girl living in Baltimore during the civil rights era who breaks down social boundaries to dance on a television show.
There are 40 students in the cast and the show is directed by theater teacher Stephanie Daniels, with musical direction by chorus teacher Jonathan Hall.
The show runs Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 each night at the Rock Hill High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students and seniors.
