A citizens’ group organizing to promote a new agri-tourism center in York County will hold its second meeting Thursday.
The York County Multipurpose/Agritourism Event Center Committee will assign volunteers to subcommittees that will study and develop the prospects for an agri-tourism facility in York County.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the Greater York Chamber of Commerce, 23 E. Liberty St., York. The same group held a public organizing meeting last month to gauge support.
York County previously studied opening a facility that could be used as a farmer’s market and a venue for livestock shows and equestrian events, as well as host other events like concerts. The county ultimately shelved the idea out of cost concerns. The new committee hopes to revive the idea with private support.
