York County residents will have a chance Saturday to dispose of hazardous materials that can’t be safely thrown out with household garbage.
York County Public Works will collect hazardous materials from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Public Works is located at 220 Public Works Road off S.C. 5 near the Moss Justice Center in York.
Residents have the option of dropping off cleaners, chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, oil-based paint, turpentine, paint thinner, mineral spirits, brake fluid and gas/oil mix.
Workers will be on hand to unload materials for safe disposal. Large qunatities of material from businesses and farms will not be accepted.
