Man, 60, lying in Rock Hill roadway dies after being hit by vehicle

A man lying in Crawford Road in Rock Hill Saturday died after being hit by a car, police said. The incident happened south of Heckle Boulevard. A police crash reconstruction team is investigating.

A man who was lying in a Rock Hill road when he was hit by a vehicle has died, police said.

The man who died was identified by the York County Coroner’s Office as Issac L. Barnett, 60. He died at the scene.

No charges have been filed.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, on Crawford Road south of Heckle Boulevard, at the intersection of Daisy Street, said Mark Bollinger, spokesman for the Rock Hill Police Department.

The man was lying in the road when a vehicle struck him, Bollinger said.

A responding officer found a woman doing CPR on the man in the southbound lane of Crawford Road, police said.

Rock Hill Fire Department units and EMS were called, because police said the man was unconscious and not breathing when officers arrived.

The police department’s serious crash reconstruction team is investigating.
