You woke up without electricity Thursday in York County? You were not alone

If you woke up without power in York County Thursday morning, you were not alone. More than 1,500 customers were affected.

The affected customers on both the north and south sides of S.C. 161 stretching from near York to Rock Hill were affected after 3 a.m.. A transformer problem cause the outages, said Ryan Mosier, a Duke Energy spokesman.

Switching circuits restored power to all but about 230 customers by around 8 a.m. as crews continued repairs, Mosier said.
