CLASS 5A

Dorman 37, Clover 7

Dorman beat the Clover Blue Eagles 37-7 in the first round of the playoffs Friday night in Clover.

Clover ended the season with a record of 6-5.

Spartanburg 59, Nation Ford 17

Spartanburg established a 38-9 lead at halftime and defeated the Nation Ford Falcons 59-17 in the first round of the playoffs Friday night in Spartanburg.

The Falcons completed the season with a record of 4-7.

Gaffney 60, Rock Hill 23

Gaffney built a 33-23 lead at halftime and topped the Rock Hill Bearcats 60-23 in the first round of the playoffs Friday night in Gaffney.

Rock Hill ended the season with a record of 2-9.

CLASS 4A

Northwestern 64, Wade Hampton 7

The Northwestern Trojans routed Wade Hampton 64-7 in the opening round of the playoffs at District Three Stadium Friday night.

Northwestern improved to 10-1 and will play at home next week in the second round of the playoffs.

Catawba Ridge 63, Riverside 28

The Catawba Ridge Copperheads defeated Riverside 63-28 in the first round of the playoffs Friday night at Catawba Ridge.

Catawba Ridge improved to 10-1 on the year and will play on the road in the second round of the playoffs next week.

South Pointe 38, Greer 14

The South Pointe Stallions defeated Greer 38-14 in the first round of the playoffs Friday night in Greer.

The Stallions used a 31-yard Jake Brookover field goal to take a 3-0 lead after one period. They exploded for 28 points in the second quarter for a 31-0 advantage at the break.

Quarterback Malachi Marshall had a pair of touchdown passes in the outburst. His six-yard strike to Armendez Huskey made it 10-0. He connected with Demari Kendrick on a 21-yard play for a 24-0 lead.

In between those two scores Jae Sanders passed to Kendrick on a 47-yard scoring play. Caleb Sims capped the second quarter rally with a 2-yard run.

The Stallions added a touchdown in the third period for a 38-0 advantage. Greer got both of its scores in the final twelve minutes.

The Stallions improved to 8-3 overall and will play on the road in the second round next week.

Indian Land 41, Laurens 20

The Indian Land Warriors used a strong fourth quarter and topped Laurens 41-20 in the opening round of the playoffs Friday night in Laurens.

Laurens took a 7-0 lead after one quarter, and they were in front 14-13 at halftime. After a scoreless third period, the Warriors scored 21 straight points for a 34-14 lead. Laurens completed the scoring in the final minute of the contest.

The Warriors improved to 7-4 overall and will play on the road in the second round next week.

James Island 32, York 14

James Island built a 19-0 lead at halftime and defeated the York Cougars 32-14 in the first round of the playoffs Friday night in Charleston.

James Island added a field for a 22-0 lead after three periods. They kicked another field goal in the final quarter for a 25-0 advantage. York responded with two scores to cut the deficit to 25-14, before James Island completed the scoring in the final minute.

York finished the season with a record of 5-6.

CLASS 3A

Chester 56, Blue Ridge 27

The Chester Cyclones raced to a 43-13 lead at halftime and routed Blue Ridge 56-27 in the openng round of the playoffs Friday night in Chester.

The Cyclones improved to 7-4 with the win and will play on the road in the second round of the playoffs next week.

CLASS 2A

Andrew Jackson 66, Ridgeland-Hardeeville 26

The Andrew Jackson Volunteers scored in every period and routed Ridgeland-Hardeeville 66-26 in the first round of the playoffs Friday night at Andrew Jackson.

The Volunteers led 52-14 at the break, and they won the second half by a count of 14-12.

Andrew Jackson picked up its ninth straight win and improved to 9-2 on the year. They will play at home next week in the second round of the postseason.

Andrews 50, Buford 21

Andrews defeated the Buford Yellow Jackets 50-21 in the opening round of the playoffs Friday night in Andrews.

Buford ended its season with a record of 8-3.

CLASS 1A

Lewisville 51, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler 8

The Lewisville Lions routed Hunter-Kinard-Tyler 51-8 in the opening round of the playoffs Friday night in Richburg.

Quarterback Ian Grissom led the assault. He passed for six touchdowns with each one going to a different receiver. Adreal Gaston, Joaquan Howze, De’adrian Robinson, Jordan Strong, Zach Rogers and Drue Shipman were on the receiving end of the touchdown aerials.

Damion Fee scored the other Lewisville touchdown on a 27-yard run.

Lewisville led 21-0 after one quarter and 48-0 at intermission.

The Lions improved to 10-1 on the year and will play at home next week in the second round of the postseason.
