Jet Turner, Clover High School’s head football coach and physical education teacher, announced Tuesday that he has accepted a teaching and coaching position at Wilson Hall School in Sumter.
Turner plans to finish out the 2010 – 2011 school year at Clover High, but he and his family will make the move to Sumter, his hometown, over the summer.
Turner has been at Clover High since 2003. He led the Blue Eagles to a state football championship in 2007.
"Clover has been a wonderful experience for my family and me over the past eight years. It was a tough decision to leave, but it is the right time to be closer to family,” Turner said in a press release from the district.
"Jet has done a great job for Clover and the football program here. We wish he and his family the best and appreciate his dedication over the past eight years,” CHS Athletic Director Carroll Hester said in the release.
