A York woman complained to police that her sandwich wasn’t served with enough chicken because of her race, according to a York Police report.
At about 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 26, the woman, 31-year-old Tyronda Michelle Smith, ordered a sandwich with chicken at the Subway restaurant located off East Liberty Street in York.
She complained to the server that the sandwich didn’t have enough chicken, the police report states. The woman then became irate and confrontational with some other customers, the report states.
When police arrived at the restaurant, the woman told them that she felt the restaurant didn’t give her enough chicken “because she is black and that it is Black History Month,” the police report states.
Police interviewed a restaurant manager, who explained that the woman was served the same portion as other customers, and that she also was given extra cheese when she asked for it, the report states.
Police gave the woman a trespassing notice and she was asked to leave the restaurant, according to the report.
