The York school district has received a three-year, $306,250 grant through the Education and Economic Development Act for a series of student improvement initiatives at the high school level.
The grant includes four components. They are an academic reinforcement center at York Comprehensive High School; support for the district’s Middle College initiative, which allows selected students to take courses and earn college credit at York Technical College; a school-based mental health counselor through Catawba Mental Health; and a summer bridge program for at-risk incoming high school freshmen.
