Todder hurt in domestic involving Clover man

A Fort Mill child was taken to the hospital for a head injury after he was struck in the head with a nightstand during a domestic dispute involving a Clover man, according to a Fort Mill Police report.

The Dec. 18 incident happened at about 1 a.m. at the Forest Ridge Apartments in Fort Mill. The report states the 34-year-old Clover man tried to have sex with his ex-girlfriend, who is the child’s mother.

When the woman refused, the man, who was allegedly drunk, became enraged and threw a nightstand, which struck the 2-year-old child in the head while he was sleeping in the same room, according to the report.

The child was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released, apparently without serious injuries, according to he report.

The mother told police she took the child and her three other children out of the house and to a hospital.

The hospital notified police of the incident. Police had not located the suspect at the time of the report.

The suspect faces domestic violence charges.
