Accused Clover arsonist found dead after apparent stabbing

A Clover man accused last week of trying to burn down a garage was found dead this morning after an apparent stabbing, officials said.

York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said Samuel Wall, 43, was pronounced dead at 103 White St. in Clover about 1:30 a.m.

It is believed he died from stab wounds. An autopsy is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today.

Wall was charged with arson after witnesses said he pulled up to his sister's Revere Drive home and set fire to the storage garage, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.

Wall was arrested several hours later, according to the report. He was booked at the Moss Justice Center on a $15,000 bond and released.

A State Law Enforcement Division background check shows Wall previously had been charged with simple assault and unlawful use of a telephone charge.
