A Clover-area gas station clerk was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning, authorities say.
The clerk was working at Hot Spot on U.S. 321 when a man walked in the business about 4 a.m., according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report. The man used a T-shirt to cover his face and was wearing blue surgical gloves. He pointed at a gun at the woman and demanded money.
The clerk gave him an undetermined amount of money and he ran out of the gas station, the report states.
Deputies talked to a witness, who said a car had pulled in his driveway, turned its lights out before backing into the roadway. The witness then heard a car door slam and saw the car speed away.
