Police: Customer hits Lake Wylie Walmart worker

A Lake Wylie Walmart employee claims a customer hit her as she was trying to help her Saturday.

Sybil Collins, 56, of York has been charged with third-degree assault and battery, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

The 19-year-old employee of the Highway 274 store had gone to help Collins at the jewelry counter when she says Collins hit her on the hand and yelled derogatory comments at her, the report states. Collins told deputies she didn’t hit anyone, and it was a misunderstanding.

However, a woman with Collins told deputies she saw her hit the employee’s hands, the report states.
