Clover police, high school team up to help soldiers call home

The Clover Police Department has teamed up with Clover High School’s Environmental Science Club and the non-profit organization Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. to help fighting soldiers call home.

People are encouraged to donate gently used cell phones. As many as 369,000 troops are currently serving overseas, and with the phone donations, those soldiers will be able to establish that “precious connection to loved ones back home,” according to a news release.

Donations will be accepted through April 12 at the police department at 112 Bethel Street and the high school at 1625 E. Highway 55.
