The York Comprehensive High School boys’ soccer team defeated the Lewisville Lions twice last week, much to the delight of head coach Kirk Adams.
The YCHS coach praised the team’s play, which began with a 3-1 win against the Lions.
With the game postponed earlier in the season due to lightning, the teams picked up the action with 10 minutes remaining.York’s Andrew Skow booted the ball into the net on two occasions, the first on an assist from teammate Todd Weatherington, the second assisted by Zong Vue.
Benji Amezcua closed out the scoring on an assist by Buddy Anderson.

The Cougars had 11 shots on goal to Lewisville’s three.
The YCHS boys prevailed 4-0 in the second game, with Skow again leading the way with two goals, the first unassisted and the second on an assist from Vue.
Amezcua made his presence felt when he scored the team’s third goal at the 41-minute mark of the second half.Dillon Cossin closed out the scoring eight minutes later.
The Cougars had 19 shots on goal and four corner kicks. Goalkeeper Todd Weatherington was credited with three saves.Adams lauded the team’s overall play, which resulted in the shutout win.
The Cougars host Nation Ford at 7 p.m. Thursday at the YCHS stadium.
