The public has several opportunities starting Thursday to meet the new executive director of York County's Culture and Heritage Museums.
Carey Tilley is a Georgia native who most recently served as executive director of the Cherokee National Historical Society in Park Hill, Okla., before taking the York County museum director position in March.
The museums have lined up several meet and greets in coming months at the various Culture and Heritage Museums and invites the public to share their input with the new director, according to a release. Admission to each site will be free during the events.
The first is Thursday, May 24, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Historic Brattonsville, 1444 Brattonsville Road in McConnells.

Saturday, June 16, 2 - 4 p.m. at the McCelvey Center, 212 East Jefferson Street in York for the opening of the New Harmonies exhibition.
Thursday, June 21, 4 - 6 p.m. at the Main Street Children's Museum on Main Street in Rock Hill, during Old Town's market and arts events.
Thursday, July 12, 5 - 7 p.m. at the Museum of York County, 4621 Mount Gallant Road.
