York Comprehensive High School teams and some parents pitched in for the purchase of used leg machines for the weight room.
Volleyball, cheerleader, girls soccer, cross country, girls basketball, softball and baseball teams contributed to the cause.
“We just needed more modern leg equipment for the girls to go with the machines we currently have,” said YCHS girls basketball coach Paula Blackwell. “The girls are able to work their hamstrings and quadriceps with these machines, plus the ones coach Boyd purchased last year.
“We appreciate the efforts of so many, which will allow our athletes to have a first- class facility.”
