Clover High School will host its annual College Goal Kick-Off for Clover students in grades 8 to 12 and their families from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Clover School District Auditorium.
During the opening session, Dr. Gloria Jones, dean of the University College at Winthrop University, will elaborate on how to identify family and student expectations in order to find a good college fit. She also will talk about the expectations colleges have for students and their families.
A college and military fair will be in the lobby from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, with breakout seesions featuring guest speakers from a variety of institutions to be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
Topics will include SAT/ACT tips; college credit in high school; the college application process; NCAA and the college-bound athlete; U.S. military scholarships; non-traditional education; hands-on degrees and more.
