Traffic changes planned on Clover's Bethel Street for resurfacing

The South Carolina Department of Transportation announces nighttime road closures and daytime lane closures along a portion of Bethel Street, or S.C. 55, in Clover due to a resurfacing project.

The resurfacing will be performed on Bethel Street from Clinton Avenue to US 321. Work will begin Sunday, Sept. 16 and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, unless there are delays due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 16:

- This section of Bethel Street will be closed between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. The detour route will be Clinton Avenue and Knox Street.

-A single eastbound lane will be open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday to help with traffic heading to several schools in the area. Westbound traffic must use the detour route during this time.

- Between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., a single lane alternating eastbound and westbound traffic will be open to traffic. SCDOT advises motorists to expect congestion and delays and to consider alternate routes during the project.
