Both boys’ and girls’ York Comprehensive High School track teams defeated Clover and South Point, N.C., in a three-way meet March 20 at the YCHS stadium.
The York boys’ team finished with 87 points to win; Clover was next with 49 points, and South Point finished with 15.
The YCHS girls’ team had similar success, finishing with 82 points. Clover followed with 51, and South Point had seven.
“Among many outstanding performances, Jenna Dasilva and Morgan Kuczler led the way,” said girls’ head coach David Griffin.
“Jenna swept the sprint events, adding 15 individual points, while Morgan swept the hurdle events, adding 10 individual points. She earned three points for placing second in the pole vault.”
“Jenna and Morgan combined with Neesha Brown and Tierea Fryer in the 4-by-400 meters and proceeded to dominate the competition,” Griffin said.
The York team of Tatyana Smith, Jada McClain, Brown and Chelsea Love won the 4x100 relay.
Kinleigh Wilkerson added five points in the shot put and discus events.

Kamian McClain, first, 110-meter hurdles; Matt Smarr, third, 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters; Matt Ransom, third, 400 meters; Tra Reid, first, 400-meter hurdles; Tyler Jackson, third, 800 meters; Paul Moore, first, 200 meters; Ben Watkins, first, pole vault, Markel Castle, first, long jump; Ethan Whitesides, second, shot put; and Shuler Littleton, first, discus.
York’s 4x100 relay team won; team members are Markel Castle, Matt Ransom, Zach Thrift and Paul Moore.
York will host South Pointe of Rock Hill and Blacksburg starting 5 p.m. April 2 at York Comprehensive High School stadium.
