Sunrise yoga class planned in Clover

Live Well Clover and the Clover YMCA will offer a sunrise yoga class at New Centre Park from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7.

Beginners and experienced students are welcome.

Cost is $5 in advance and $10 the day of the class. Tickets are available at the Clover YMCA, Clover Parks and Recreation and Town Hall.

Bring your yoga mat.

Grapette reunion to be July 12

A reunion for former Grapettes of the South Carolina Grape Festival in York will be 10 a.m. to noon July 12 at The Market at Inman Farms.

From 1965 to 1979, York celebrated the South Carolina Grape Festival, which included Inman Farms as one of the grape producers. Part of the festival involved naming Grapettes, and ultimately the queen of the festival.

Timber Ridge to perform at Allison Creek

Allison Creek Bluegrass will host local favorite Timber Ridge on Thursday, June 6.

Doors open at 6 p.m., food concessions are available beginning 6:30 p.m. and the music is live from 7 to 9 p.m..

This is a family-friendly, no cover charge event that takes place at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church, on S.C. 274 between Lake Wylie and Newport.

Roger Day to perform at library

Family entertainer Roger Day will present two Marsh Mud Madness shows at 1 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at the York County Library in Rock Hill.

Day created his new show Marsh Mud Madness in partnership with the University of Georgia Marine Institute on Sapelo Island, Ga. His shows will introduce children and families to the plants and animals that live in and around the salt water marshes and beaches of barrier islands.

The shows are free and open to all ages. Seating is limited and registration is recommended by calling 803-981-5888.

Agape Senior plans drop in

Agape Senior will host a drop in for volunteers from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at The Villas at Agape Senior, 1020 N. Congress St., York.

Glencairn to host First Friday

First Friday in the Garden will feature a Plant Walkabout at 11 a.m. June 6 in Glencairn Garden, led by Clemson Extension Agent Paul Thompson.

He will discuss trees, shrubs and flowers found in the garden. The event is free and begins at the Glencairn Garden Learning Center, 835 Edgemont Ave., Rock Hill.

Summer reading program sign-up underway

Online registration is underway for the York County libraries summer reading program. The free program runs June 9 to Aug. 1 for all ages.

In addition there are weekly performances by puppeteers, theater groups, magicians and others. For information and registration, go to yclibrary.org.

Clover walking group meeting

The Clover Daybreak Walkers, a new walking club, will meet at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and Saturday through June 14 in the parking lot of the Blue Eagle Academy.

The club is for beginners but everyone is welcome to participate. Registration is not necessary; just show up with walking shoes, comfortable clothing, water and sun protection. A walk leader will plan and lead each day’s walk.

The Daybreak Walkers is a pilot project of Live Well Clover, the town’s active-living committee organized to create a healthy and active Clover community. For details, contact Town Hall at 803-222-9495.
