Great Joy Baptist plans tailgate celebration

Great Joy Baptist Church, U.S. 321 in McConnells, will have a community tailgate celebration 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 21.

Enon Baptist plans homecoming

Enon Baptist Church in York will have a homecoming celebration 11 a.m. June 22 with the Rev. Denver Parker.

Singing will be 1:30 p.m. with the Pathfinders.

First Baptist plans Bible school

First Baptist Church on South Congress Street in York will have vacation Bible school 6-8:30 p.m. June 23-27, with classes for all ages.

The Stars of Hope team raised $11,800 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the largest amount for a church team.

Operation In As Much, a mission outreach Sept. 13, is looking for projects to be completed that day. For information, call the church.

Clinton Chapel AME Zion plans Bible school

Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church, 302 California St. in York, will have Bible school 5:30-8:30 p.m. June


The program will be Agency D-3 – Discover, Decide and Defend – 1 Peter 3:15. Everyone is invited.

Take a trip to Israel

Charles and Barbara Ford of Lake Wylie will host a trip to Israel on Nov. 5-15.

The Fords have lived in and visited Israel many times and have insight into the history, religion and modern day culture of this region, the birthplace of Christianity.

A series of pre-departure study sessions is being planned.

Support group to meet

Affirmation of York County is a new support group for people of all faiths who seek support and understanding in working through the issues confronted by gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, their families and friends.
