‘Little Mermaid Jr.’ on stage July 26 in Clover

Clover Youth Theatre Company presents “The Little Mermaid Jr.” at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Blue Eagle Academy, 300 Clinton Ave.

Clover Youth Theatre Company, a collaboration of Rob and Cheri Addison and Kim Beaudoin started in spring 2013, offers local children an opportunity to engage in the performing arts close to home.

Angie Sulls with The Clover Choristers assists as music director for productions. Becca Steele, a senior at Nation Ford High School and a dancer for more than 13 years and captain of the Nation Ford Dance Company, created the choreography.

There will be 30 local students in the production including Morgan Locklear as Ariel, Spencer Addison as Flounder, Malcolm Addison as King Triton, Garrett McCord as Sebastian and Olivia Beaudoin as Ursula.

New River Community Church provided rehearsal space, while many costume items were found at Sweet Repeat Thrift Store, including the dress that will be transformed for Ursula’s costume.

Tickets cost $5, and may be purchased at the door or through Friday, July 25, at New River Community Church.
