I was attending the Phat Bottom Speedway with my husband on a recent Saturday evening when the York County Sheriff’s Department showed up without warning handing the property owner a $500 ticket for noise violation due to complaints.
They haven’t even started the program yet.
Do not mow your lawn, or else you may be seeing the sheriff’s department for noise violations. These are lawn mower races, yes lawn mower races.
They benefit the community by keeping kids interested in this instead of gangs and other malicious activities. I think I could put up with noise instead of having my house burglarized or being hit by a drunken teen who didn’t have any thing else good to do.
This is good, clean, family friendly fun. But it was shut down before my grandchildren and great grandchildren could even experience it.
These are upstanding community residents who are trying to help others by volunteering their time and expertise to help young people have fun in a safe environment.
If you are interested in how this organization works, please help with getting this publicized as much as possible. There are several county meetings held to re-zone the area for this activity and we are looking for as much support as possible.
Is it OK to have a tourism attraction for other areas, but not for York?
