Kings Mountain Chapel plans fall fest

Kings Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church on Philbeck Road in York will have its fall festival and craft bazaar 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 18.

The church is partnering with The Peach Tree on Filbert Highway, which will hold its annual fall festival the same day.

The church will have crafters and artists, games and a hay ride. The United Methodist Men will sell food and the United Methodist Women will sell baked goods.

The youth group will be offering games to raise money for its mission project, and there will be a pumpkin roll on the church’s front lawn.

Admission is free.

Bethel Baptist fall fest Oct. 18

Bethel Baptist Church Fall Festival will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 18 at 6031 Charlotte Highway.

There will be music, food, hay rides, games, inflatables, popcorn and more, all free.

Wesley UMC plans clothing giveaway

The women of Wesley United Methodist Church, 110 W. Jefferson St., York, will hold the church’s annual clothing giveaway 9 a.m.-1 p.m Oct. 18.

The event will include all types of children’s clothing and coats for women, men and children.

Adnah UMC plans bazaar

Adnah United Methodist Church, 1615 Adnah Church Road, Rock Hill, will host a craft bazaar and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18.

The event in the church family life center building will include more than 30 vendors, crafts, a huge bake sale, silent auction, breakfast, a hot dog lunch and more.

Trunk or Treat at 4 churches

Four York-area churches will present a community-wide Trunk or Treat for families from 7-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

The event will be at First Baptist Church, 102 S. Congress St.; First Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Liberty St.; Trinity United Methodist Church, 22 E. Liberty St.; and Wesley United Methodist Church, 110 W. Jefferson St.

Tirzah ARP plans craft, food event

Tirzah ARP Church, Mount Gallant Road, York, will host a craft and food bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1.

Donate to Coats for Kids

The Knights of Columbus Council and Respect for Life Ministry of All Saints Catholic Church are accepting donations for Coats for Kids to provide winter coats to children in need.

For $220, the groups can provide coats to 12 children in York County.

The Knights of Columbus began this initiative in 2009 to help families with children living in colder climates who were impacted by the economic downturn. Knights across the country have given away more than 167,000 coats. About 2,000 local Knights of Columbus councils have participated in their communities.

Last winter was a record year for the Order’s Coats for Kids program. During that time, 1,195 councils and the Supreme Council purchased and donated 51,924 coats.

Abiding Presence plans yard sale

Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in York will host a yard sale from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 1 at the church at 323 N. Congress St.

The sale will include furniture, electronics, computers, office equipment, tools, toys, clothing, outdoor camping equipment, sports equipment and Christmas decorations.

Artists invited to church Fall Bazaar

River Hills Community Church Fall Bazaar Committee will showcase the work of Lake Wylie artists from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 1.

There are no entry fees, and a maximum of five entries per artist must be received from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 22.

Art must be two-dimensional framed art or gallery-wrapped canvas ready to be hung, with 60 percent of sales going to the artist and 40 percent to church missions.

Matted unframed art or shrink-wrapped work including note cards will be sold with 50 percent to the artist and 50 percent to church missions.

People’s Choice Awards will be awarded. First place will receive $100, second $75 and third $25. There will be three honorable mentions. Voting will be after each Oct. 26 service.

Healing service at Good Samaritan

The Divine Healing Ministry Chapter of the International Order of St. Luke holds a healing service 3 p.m. the fourth Saturday of the month at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5220 Crowders Cove Road.
