Filbert hosts fall fun

You'll find plenty of pansies and pumpkins galore this weekend during Fall in Filbert.

Stacy's Greenhouse has teamed up with The Peach Tree for the festival from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Peach Tree has rounded up a patch of pumpkins for painting, and will also offer face painting. Other events include a horse and buggy ride, maze, pumpkin-related games and live music. A clown will also be on hand to entertain guests. Hot dogs and other snacks will be for sale.

Also, Stacy's will offer pansy pounding, a playground, and bouncy house. They will also register patrons for free prizes while giving out popcorn and soda.

Admission is free, although the buggy ride is $.

"(It's) a lot of Halloween fall fun," said Merwyn Smith, Peach Tree owner. "Fall on the farm is our theme, which will include a lot of activities the entire family can enjoy."

Linda Coon, retail manager of the garden center at Stacy's, said the event is "fun for all ages."

Both businesses are located on Filbert Highway between York and Clover.
