Clover's U10 All Stars played Charleston on Saturday at Manchester Park in Rock Hill and won 3-2 in overtime to send Clover to the state championship game. In the championship game, it was a close, hard fought game with another Charleston team. Down 3-2 in overtime, Ryan Caves scored the tying goal to send the game into a shootout. In the shootout, John Kevin Borella, left, made the game winning save and gave Clover its first ever State Championship for U10 Soccer.

Also, the U13 All Stars played Charleston in their semifinal match and won 3-2. In the championship game, Clover faced an outstanding team from Bluffton. After being down 2-0, Clover fought back with goals by Dylan Jones and Manny Vargas before being defeated 3-2.

"These teams did a great job and were only able to practice together for about two weeks," said Willis Whitley, program coordinator for Clover Parks and Recreation. "We are excited about the outcome of our first season of state tournament play, and we're even more excited about building a greater spring season."
