CLOVER -- A 26-year-old Clover man was killed after a one-car crash on North Shiloh Road near York, according to the state Highway Patrol.
Paul Lee Player, 26, was on his way to work Monday morning when he apparently ran off the road, said York County Deputy Coroner Ev Amick.
Player was driving east on North Shiloh Road around 4:45 a.m. when his Toyota pickup truck went off the left side of the road as he was driving into a curve, said Lance Cpl. Jeff Gaskin of the Highway Patrol.
The truck struck a culvert, overturned and struck a tree, Gaskin said.
"We believe speed is not a factor," Gaskin said. "The causation of this collision is believed to be too fast for conditions."
The speed limit in that area is 25 mph, Gaskin said.
Player was pronounced dead at the scene. He was entrapped in the vehicle and was wearing a seat belt, Amick said.
