CLOVER -- Beginning next Monday, Flat Rock Street in Clover will be closed through mid-summer while the South Carolina Department of Transportation replaces the bridge on the road over an unnamed stream.
A detour will be set up running from Hwy. 321 (Main Street South) to McConnell Street and Willow Street. The total length of the detour will be .16 miles.
The state's Bridge Inspection Program rated the bridge as structurally deficient, according to a statement from SCDOT. The department decided to close the road and reroute traffic because it carried only a relatively small number of cars each day.
