The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas are expanding their annual “Students Saving Summer Scholarship” program.
Students who organize and host a successful blood drive with CBCC between the months of June and September 2011 have the chance to earn scholarship money for college. The students who hold the top-five-producing blood drives will each earn a $1,000 scholarship for their post-secondary education. There will be a total of five $1,000 scholarships awarded from CBCC instead of the three offered in past years.
Participating students must hold their blood drive between June 1 and Sept. 30, 2011. Students must select a location, recruit donors and collect a minimum of 25 units of blood to be eligible for the scholarship. Each student will be paired up with a CBCC representative who will provide assistance with planning the blood drive. The CBCC scholarship donation must be directly transferred to the college, university or other learning establishment of each winner’s choice.
