Practice, sign ups under way

LAKE WYLIE -- Xtreme Youth Sports football practice is under way at Crowders Creek schools. Practice goes through Aug. 15.

Xtreme Youth Sports has been asked to be one of the teams to host the televised NFL Little Panthers Game of the Week and will play at Memorial Stadium in September. The children will get autographs from NFL players and shake hands with Sir Purr.

The Lake Wylie Colts were the Superbowl Champions for the league last season, and the Lake Wylie Gamecocks came in second place in the Superbowl College Division. Both teams have a chance to play in the September game.

TENNIS

USTA league season to begin

USTA Combo League, a tennis doubles league for adults aged 19 and older, is registering for teams in York, Chester and Lancaster counties. The season begins Sunday.

Weekly matches are held on evenings and weekends at various locations.

The cost is $19. Participants must be USTA members.

USTA adult membership is $40 per year.
