The final event on the 2008 Bassmaster Elite Series schedule was not the best for Lake Wylie's trio of anglers, who were led by Todd Auten in 74th place after catching 10 fish weighing 19 pounds, 15 ounces during the Champion's Choice on Oneida Lake in New York. Jason Quinn tied for 87th in the field of 106, followed by Britt Myers at 95th.
The event landed Quinn in 52nd out of 109 competitors in the final Angler of the Year standings, followed by Myers at 61st and Auten at 85th. None of the anglers finished in the top 36 in tour, which would have qualified them for the 2009 Bassmaster Classic Feb. 20-22 on Lousianna's Red River. Several other spots in the Classic remain open through other routes.
Also, the series schedules for 2009 and 2010 were announced recently, though Lake Wylie was not among the fisheries chosen. For more, visit bassmaster.com.
