Lake Wylie Knights support Boy Scout Troop

The All Saints Council No. 14475 of the Knights of Columbus recently donated $800 to Boy Scout Troop 365 in Lake Wylie.

The money, along with an anonymous matching contribution, will be used to purchase a car trailer for the troop.

“The trailer will be used to transport camping gear for troop campouts and other scouting events, as well as for collecting food and clothing during the Scouts annual Scouting for Food drives,” Scoutmaster Jason Floyd said.

During last year’s drive, the troop collected more than 1,200 pounds of food for Clover Area Assistance Center, along with coats.

Fred Kellisch, grand knight of the All Saints council said, “Our members are delighted to have raised the money to help make this important piece of equipment available for our local Scouts to better participate in the Scouting experience, as well as to contribute to meeting the needs of our local community.”

Floyd said the troop is always looking to expand and membership is open to boys ages 11 to 16. To join the Boy Scouts, call 803-222-0118.
