LAKE WYLIE -- It's time to decorate your house for the holiday -- gingerbread house, that is.
Dilworth Coffee House in Lake Wylie invites the community to show off the sweet houses they build Dec. 19 during the third annual Gingerbread House Contest at the shop, 4937 Charlotte Hwy.
Judging will begin at 7 p.m., and there will be special Christmas music, too.
"The owners (of the coffee house) were doing it before we took over, and we just tried to keep some of the same things going," said co-owner Phil Huffman. "It's a fun and creative event."

Last year, Huffman said, there were seven entries, including his first-ever build with co-owner Kathleen Biseli.
"I just wanted to try it," he said. "We put motorcycles in the yard. It was pretty cool."
But Huffman admits, he likes the houses built of candies and frosting for more than their cheery looks.
"I'm in charge of eating them," he said.
Entries will begin being accepted Dec. 17. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place, and most creative.
Huffman said there will be three judges: Donna Britsch of Tega Cay, Biseli, and likely one of the musicians.
Britsch has judged the event since its inauguration.
"I love the variety of houses that have been entered in the past," she said via e-mail. "Some are very simple, and some are very detailed. Both kinds have been selected as winners.
"I think a gingerbread contest can create some fun, old-fashioned fun," she said.
