Lake Wylie Christian Academy helps CAAC

Lake Wylie Christian Academy celebrated a Day of Service on May 17 at Clover Area Assistance Center.

Adults cleared weeds, planted flowers, trimmed hedges, mowed and spread river stone behind the center on Highway 55 in Clover.

Students from Lake Wylie Christian Assembly Youth Group collected 285 pounds of food and, along with parents, stocked food on the shelves of CAAC’s Full Choice Pantry. It was a full-service project for adults and children from Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

Clover church VBS Saturday

New Life Baptist Church - Clover, 305 N. Main St., will hold vacation Bible school from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14, for pre-k through sixth grade.

Bethel Baptist VBS starts Monday

Bethel Baptist Church, 6031 Charlotte Highway, invites children ages preschool through high school to “Agency D3” vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 16-20.

Parents’ Date Night Out June 20

River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, will host Parents’ Date Night Out on June 20 in the gym of the Family Life Center.

Drop off will begin at 5:15 p.m. Children should be picked up by 8 p.m. All ages are invited.

There will be crafts, snacks and a movie. Children younger than age 3 will play in nursery care during the movie. Cost is $10 per child. Space is limited. Reservations: or call 803-831-1615.

Journey Fest set for June 28

The Journey at Lake Wylie, 5415 S.C. 557, will hold Journey Fest 2014 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. June 28.

Lunch will be available, as well as a bake sale, yard sale, silent auction, events and games for children, and special attractions.

Yard sale and vendor spaces cost $10. Tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supply lasts, or furnish your own.

Praise Party June 28 in Clover

The Will of God Ministries, 206 Hampshire Lane, presents Praise Party In The Park on June 28 at Roosevelt Park.

Take trip to Holy Land

Charles and Barbara Ford of Lake Wylie will host a trip to the Holy Land Nov. 5-15.

The Fords have lived in and visited Israel many times and have insight into the history, religion and modern day culture of this region, the birthplace of Christianity.

Dine for HOPE

The Waffle House-Lake Wylie and Knights of Columbus of All Saints Council No. 14475 are raising money for Operation HOPE (Helping Other People Everyday), a statewide campaign to help people with intellectual disabilities.
