Agapé Rehab awarded
ROCK HILL Agapé Rehab Post-Acute Care Center has been recognized as a 2014 recipient of the Commitment to Quality Award.
The center was one of 390 to receive the award. The award will be presented during American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living’s 65th annual Convention and Exposition Oct. 5-8 in Washington, D.C.
The award is the first of three distinctions through the National Quality Award program that honors centers across the nation that have demonstrated a commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
The program has three levels, and centers begin the quality improvement process at the first level, where they develop an organizational profile with essential performance elements such as vision and mission statements and an assessment of customers’ expectations. Centers must also demonstrate an ability to implement a performance improvement system. Examiners review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria.
For more information, call 1-800-411-2427.

Buy local with mobile app
ROCK HILL The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce announces a new buy-local partnership with Thanx Inc. to motivate people to support local businesses.
Thanx is a mobile application that connects businesses to customers and allows them to reward those customers with each return visit. Using the app, customers can flip through a list of all participating local merchants and track their progress toward available rewards. As new merchants join, customers will be alerted through their mobile device.
Each participating business will have access to a private merchant analytics dashboard through Thanx, which reveals insights and data on that individual business. York County retailers, restaurants and service providers can get started with Thanx by calling 803-324-7500.
