The four school districts in York County beginthe annual school supply drives this week.
The collections will continue through Aug. 4. All four districts are accepting donated supplies and cash, used to purchase supplies.
For the several years, the four districts have teamed up to organize and promote the drive with The Herald and its three community publications, the Enquirer-Herald, Lake Wylie Pilot and Fort Mill Times .
Mychal Frost, spokesman for the Clover School District, said the donated supplies affect the confidence of students on the first day of school.

“Entering school with the necessary supplies alleviates the financial stress that comes with the beginning of each new school year,” Frost said.
Through the drive and other community partnerships, he said, the Clover district expects to help about 500 students. Frost said supplies will be distributed during a back-to-school bash in cooperation with Roosevelt Community Watch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 9 at the District Resource Center.
